Asir Development Authority and Saudi ICOMOS Sign an MoU to Support Heritage in Asir

The Asir Development Authority and the Saudi National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (Saudi ICOMOS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the historic Abu Sarrah Palaces.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two entities in preserving the region’s cultural heritage.

Through this MoU, both sides seek to raise awareness about the importance of safeguarding cultural heritage and to build skills and expertise in the restoration and revitalization of heritage villages.

The agreement also outlines efforts to review and evaluate the activities of the Culture and Heritage Department within the Asir Development Authority, enhance research related to the protection and sustainability of heritage sites, and exchange knowledge and best practices to maintain the authenticity of Asir’s cultural legacy.

The signing of this agreement reflects the Asir Development Authority’s commi
