It is part of the global ICOMOS network of people, institutions, government bodies and private companies that support the preservation of world heritage.
As the only local professional organization with a global focus, ICOMOS Saudi is a gateway for Saudi professionals to participate in heritage conservation around the world. With more than 20 members, Saudi ICOMS works to foster strong relationships between national, regional, private and governmental organizations within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the international conservation community.
Saudi ICOMOS directs and promotes activities through a broad membership network of specialists in the field of heritage preservation, including individuals, institutions and organizations, including specialized scientific committees.
The Saudi ICOMOS vision is to support and improve the preservation of Saudi cultural heritage through awareness, capacity building, coordination and consultation. As well as by supporting research in the areas of protection, preservation, management and continuity of our cultural heritage.
ICOMOS Saudi Arabia strives to increase the debate on heritage conservation at a more critical level based on the latest international beliefs and standards. It also serves as an advisory body for our national organizations, representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in regional and international forums.
Saudi ICOMOS is a nationally respected organization of a group of cultural heritage specialists that advocates and supports heritage preservation through developing the best procedures, sharing knowledge, and enabling professional development.
