The Saudi National Committee for the International Council on Monuments and Sites (Saudi ICOMOS) and the Royal Commission for AlUla Governorate are scheduled to launch… AlUla International Heritage Impact Assessment Conference (AlUla), On December 3, 2023 AD / Jumada Al-Awwal 19, 1445 AH, In the city of Al-Ula, northwest of the Kingdom.
The conference is held in partnership with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), Athar Regional Center in Sharjah (ICCROM), The Regional Center for the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Arts Organization (UNESCO).
The conference, scheduled to be held in AlUla Mirrors Hall, will take place. For a period of 4 consecutive days (3 to 6 December 2023 AD – 19 to 22 Jumada al-Awwal 1445 AH), In the presence of prominent figures and the participation of archaeologists, experts and specialists in the field of heritage from various parts of the world.
The conference discusses prominent topics, including: Assessing the heritage impact of archaeological heritage sites and living urban heritage in light of the sustainable development goals, It also addresses heritage impact assessment policies and legislation and implementation frameworks. And heritage impact assessment planning for mega development projects.
