Asir Development Authority and Saudi ICOMOS sign MoU to serve heritage in Asir
The Asir Region Development Authority and the Saudi National Committee of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS Saudi Arabia) have signed a memorandum of understanding. Memorandum of Understanding in “Historic Qusoor Abu Sharaf”. It aims to enhance cooperation between the two organizations in the field of cultural heritage preservation in the region.
By signing this agreement, the two organizations seek to raise awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage. Building capacities and competencies in the field of rehabilitating heritage villages.
They will also review and evaluate the activities of the General Directorate of Culture and Heritage at the Asir Development Authority. In addition to promoting research in the areas of protection and sustainability of heritage sites. Exchange knowledge and best practices to realize an authentic heritage and cultural legacy.
The signing of the agreement comes within the framework of the Asir Region Development Authority’s interest in heritage sites in the region.
