The Saudi ICOMOS, in collaboration with the Heritage Commission, conducted a training workshop entitled “Urban Heritage as a Source of Inspiration for Placemaking” on May 27, 2024. This workshop was designed to achieve a range of strategic objectives, including enhancing the preservation of cultural sites through placemaking and ensuring their long-term sustainability. Additionally, it aimed to raise awareness about the concept of urban heritage preservation and to encourage community engagement in this crucial field.
As part of the efforts to strengthen collaboration between governmental and private sectors, the workshop underscored the importance of partnerships in promoting awareness about cultural heritage preservation.
