Training in Urban Heritage and Preservation in AlUla
Saudi ICOMOS and the Royal Commission of AlUla, in cooperation with King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), successfully organized a training trip for students from the College of Architecture and Urban Design entitled “Urban Heritage and Preservation” in AlUla Governorate. from January 7 to 11. The training was attended by a distinguished group of professors and lecturers who made valuable contributions in discussing and exploring the latest methods and techniques for preserving urban heritage in the region.
The training included informative lectures and presentations as well as field workshops in the old town of Al-Ula and Al-Waha that enhanced participants’ understanding of the importance of preserving cultural heritage as an essential part of national and historical identity. This event represents an important step towards enhancing cultural and educational communication. And promote joint efforts in the field of preserving urban heritage for current and future generations.
