Invitation to Celebrate International Day of Monuments and Sites 2024

Join us in celebrating World Heritage Day 2024!
On the occasion of World Heritage Day on April 18, the Saudi ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) in collaboration with the Saudi Association for Urban Sciences and the Mudad Foundation for Heritage, Culture, and Arts are pleased to announce a series of special events including:
1️⃣ Scientific Lecture:
Enjoy a lecture by Dr. Adnan bin Mohammed Al-Harthy, where he will discuss the history of valleys and floods in Mecca, their impact on the architecture of the Haram Mosque and the holy sites, and ways of protection against them. Held in the Safa Hall at the Mudad Museums.
2️⃣ Historical Photo Exhibition:
Explore the history of floods in the Holy Haram and witness modern protection measures at the Mudad Museum in Jeddah Park Center.
3️⃣ Heritage Award:
Participate in the Heritage Award by submitting your photos of landmarks in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Get a chance to win and highlight your efforts in protecting and documenting heritage.
Award Conditions:

• Photos must be of high resolution and printable quality.
• Participants can submit photos previously entered in other competitions.
• Do not write participants’ names on the photos for confidentiality reasons.
• The deadline for submissions is in April.
